Things to Do in NYC on a Sunny Day - If We Ever Have One

posted by LIM College

Although it is supposedly spring, it doesn’t seem like spring has really sprung anywhere near this city. With the sun peeking out one day and it raining torrentially the next day, it’s hard to feel like summer is only two months away. But when the sun actually makes an appearance, here are a few things that are fun to do in and around New York City.

First and foremost, my favorite thing to do is to go to a Yankees game. (I have never been to a Mets, game but I am sure it is just as fun of a time.) The environment at a sporting event in New York City is unlike any other. This is one of the only places that you can go to and really feel a sense of unity with a huge population of the city.

One other thing that I love to do on a sunny day is to just walk around the city wherever you want to go. You never really know New York City until you walk it. Walk up to Central Park with a book, blanket and lunch and your whole day is made. Some of my most relaxing days have been spent walking around the park.

Another thing that I love to do on a sunny day over the weekend is to go to Union Square and walk around the farmers market.  There are also a ton of other street fairs that happen all spring and summer long that are really fun to walk up and down if you have a little extra money. They always have a ton of different things for sale, from dresses to jewelry to food and everything in between.

These are just a few things that I like to do on a sunny day, but of course there are many others. Once you move to NYC you will find your own favorite things to do!
