Professor Marie Driscoll

Driscoll, Marie, Graduate Study.jpgMarie Driscoll, a professor at LIM College, is a highly experienced industry analyst focusing on apparel, luxury goods and the retail industry who will be writing for the LIM Blog. Her knowledge of global consumer markets is broad and deep and she has served in key analytical and business development roles in leading financial research firms.

Marie started Driscoll Advisors late in 2011 providing consulting services to academia, industry, investors and non-profits. In 2014, she joined LIM College, teaching Luxury Brand Management in the Fashion Industry, Global Fashion Marketing and Retail, and in 2017 began content development for LIM's Graduate Studies web and social media efforts.

Marie was recognized three times in The Wall Street Journal’s “Best on the Street” analyst survey, capturing the first place ranking for stock selection in the Clothing & Accessories industry in 2009. Additionally, Marie is a columnist for the ICSC’s VRN and IOJ, The Robin Report, an industry consultant at Fung Global Retail & Technology, a contributor at Luxury Daily and The Sourcing Journal, and a business development consultant for Shoptalk, the premier nextgen commerce event. As a thought leader, her contributions include white papers for CohnReznick and Deloitte’s Global Powers of Luxury Goods 2014.

GlobalPowerLuxuryGoods.jpgPreviously (2003-2011), Marie was Director of Consumer Discretionary Retail, leading a team of five analysts responsible for about 140 equities spanning department and specialty stores, discounters and mass merchants as well as restaurants, housing and furniture stocks in Standard & Poor’s equity research department. Earlier, she worked at Argus Research, Oppenheimer & Co., Smith Barney and Prudential, all in equity research roles. 

Marie’s education consists of a BA in Philosophy from Hofstra and an MBA in Finance & Investments from The Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, CUNY. She is a member of NYSSA, AIMR and RMS and is frequently cited in the press, appears on TV, and has been a panelist at industry events for the NRF and the ICSC.
