Higher Education, Higher Perks.  Check out the exclusive perks of being a graduate student at LIM College.

Graduate Student Lounge

If you need a place to work on homework or unwind before class, head up to the eighth floor of Maxwell Hall to our Graduate Student Lounge! Complete with Wi-Fi, couches, tables, large flat screen TV, microwave and vending machines, the lounge is a student paradise.

CEO Speaker Series

Each month LIM College invites fashion industry CEOs and presidents to campus to speak with graduate students and offer advice about how to break into the industry. This series is offered exclusively to grad students with the exception of a handful of undergraduate fashion scholars. It is also streamed for online graduate students.

The CEOs speak about how their careers started and their rise through the corporate ranks. Graduate students learn about their challenges and successes while gaining insight on what it takes to reach the top ranks of a fashion company. Past speakers have included Co-founder & CEO of Rebecca Minkoff, Uri Minkoff  and Vice Chairman of Penske Media Group, Gerry Byrne. The CEO Speaker Series gives graduate students the opportunity to interact with fashion industry executives armed with advice to help shape them into the future leaders of fashion.

Online Programs

If you can’t move to New York, or want to increase your education remotely, LIM College offers online degree programs for graduate students. This is a flexible option for students to earn a Master of Professional (MPS) degree at home as if they were on campus.

FallMixer.jpgOnline students experience the same hands-on elements as on-campus students while pursuing their dream of a graduate degree from a distance. Through the online program, LIM extends the reach of its highly knowledgeable professors beyond NYC so students can take their careers to the next level, wherever they are. Currently LIM offers highly focused online programs in (MPS) Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management and (MPS) Fashion Marketing.

Graduate Only Events and Workshops

The Graduate Activities and Programming Board (GAP) is a graduate student organization that plans and executes graduate-only events. Since a lot of LIM community events happen during the workday or graduate class time, GAP plans activities around the busy schedules of its students. Previous graduate-only events have included Paint Nite, Networking Brunch and Career Fair Bootcamp. Also, each semester, graduate students and alumni also get early access to the Career Fair.

Make sure to mark your calendar for the Graduate Fall Mixer “Ugly Sweater Party” on November 18th from 7-9 pm in Maxwell Hall. Food and beverages will be served.
