Even though I’ve done many internships during my years at LIM College, I wasn’t really sure how things would play out for the Senior Co-op. I am in the real world now—doing actual work, being responsible for tasks and feeling like part of a team.

How to Avoid Being Homesick

Posted by LIM College on Mon, Feb 23, 2015 @ 10:00 AM

I am pretty sure everyone that has left their family and home country behind to go travel and/or study abroad has felt a very sad and deep feeling called homesickness.  Homesickness is difficult to avoid, especially when you first arrive in a new place. The fact is that if you have a heart and care about the people around you, you will always miss them a lot.

Visa Q & A

Posted by LIM College on Thu, Jan 08, 2015 @ 01:02 PM

If there is one thing that I can say about being an International Student at LIM College, it’s that we are never alone on this journey. The college has a great team that supports us from the moment we apply and even after graduation. So I asked Frankie Solorzano, Coordinator of International Student Services, a few questions about visas and the whole process international students need to go through.

Applying to LIM College

Posted by LIM College on Tue, Dec 09, 2014 @ 12:16 PM

Between deciding what you want to study and which college to go to, it’s also important to consider what else is necessary to start your college life. People say that one of the most stressful times before college can be the application process because there is just so much to do with no assistance whatsoever. I couldn’t disagree more; applying to LIM College for me was pretty simple. LIM has everything very clear and laid out on their website, which is pretty straightforward, even if English isn’t your first language.

Their application check list helps to make sure that you have all the required documents, that you’ve taken all the necessary tests and also gathered any other important information—essay and extracurricular activities list included.  The college also has a great admissions team who are always there to help students. Just shoot them an email and soon there will be an answer waiting for you in your mailbox.

Posted by LIM College on Thu, Nov 06, 2014 @ 11:40 AM

Well, I guess fall finally arrived here in NYC. The temperatures dropped (A LOT), and the leaves are slowly changing colors and letting go of their branches. Winter will approach soon, but before that even happens, we might as well enjoy this season since it’s so beautiful and so full of things to do.

International Student Orientation

Posted by LIM College on Mon, Sep 22, 2014 @ 10:00 AM

Am I the only one who has mixed feelings about going back to school? I know it is such an exciting time to see everyone again, take the classes we chose back in the spring, and get involved in campus activities. However, it still means summer is over and the relaxing moments at the beach or in our home country are over, which can be really tough. But oh well, nothing we can do about that, right?
