If you thought that you would be the only one to benefit from studying fashion in the U.S. you should think twice, because those you love might just follow you all the way here to New York City.

I have lost count of how many times I have had visitors, starting from my close family (my mom has about 7 or 8 entrances into the U.S. since I moved here!) and ending with people I wasn’t even that close to back home. Even though that might seem annoying, it is so refreshing to see familiar faces and know that we are not alone in this journey.

It is also a great opportunity to get to know NYC and your surroundings better. You have the excuse to see the touristy places and act like a tourist yourself – taking pictures of everything you see. Also, it’s so cool to show people that we know the area and take them to our favorite spots – it is a way to say “look how far I have come!”

Because of these visits, I have been everywhere on the East Coast basically – Florida, Washington D.C, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut and even Canada! I’ve had great experiences so far and I am sure that whenever more visitors come I will have many more adventures – so let’s keep the passports moving!
