Turn Stress Into Success

describe the imageHey everyone! It’s me Courtney, coming at you live from my computer, screaming at the top of my lungs that I’ve completed 6 weeks of school! Wow! Within those six weeks I’ve begun to truly feel at home in the city that I’ve always dreamed of living in, and cozy at the school I’ve always dreamed of attending. I’ve formed lifelong friendships, and learned about myself since tackling this life on my own, far away from home. Yes, this is all exciting, yet along with so much risk and change comes the expected stress of deadlines and due dates. But remember when I told you that it was my mission to make you an LIM College pro before you even hit the streets of NYC? Well, I remember, and today our mission is to turn stress into big time success.

As a student at LIM College, you will experience fashion and business like never before. Your classes will challenge you to think creatively and to work hard to participate and complete homework assignments. At times this can become stressful, and you may feel like you need to relax or take a deep breath. In order to de-stress, participate in some fun dorm activities, grab some "me" time, or hang out with friends!

This week, Tuesday night rolled around, and my friend Alyssa and I decided we needed a break from homework. We chose to participate in the yoga session that was offered in the first floor lounge. After an hour, we had stretched, reached, and balanced our minds right back into relaxation! The dorm is great about offering fun activities every night of the week, so next year take the opportunity and participate in them, because finding a good balance between school and fun is very important for your success. Alyssa and I had a blast, and felt motivated to finish up our studying, since we embraced the power of the “ommmmm!”

So when you are an LIM College student, remember that you are here at LIM College and limcollege.edu staff Staff Profiles Desktops & Documents lola.rephann My Documents website BLOGS Hubspot Blogs Admissions images IMG 0746 resized 600living in NYC because you love it. You have a passion for this city and this school, and you desire to embrace everything around you. Work hard to remind yourself that what you are doing is what you love. Study hard and remain academically dedicated, but go to Central Park for a run with friends, head to Brooklyn for a visit to some vintage stores, or read the stack of fashion books that captured your heart in the first place.

If you find the right balance, your stress will be channeled into success. So when you’re here chasing your dreams next year, take a breath and read that book. You need it and you deserve it.

Until next week my friends,

Find balance and stay passionate,
