Giving Thanks for a Web of Fashion Connections

posted by LIM College

Hello everyone! I just want to take the time to say that I love posting blog entries for all of you to read. As each week passes, I feel that I learn something new or think about something that would be worthwhile for you to know. It is a privilege for me to be able to reflect on my experiences and share my thoughts. Now, I know it’s not Thanksgiving, but today is all about thanks!

When you attend LIM College and move to the city, you will have so much to be grateful for. You will be in an incredible city, and at school learning about what you love -- the fashion business. But most of all you will have the resources you need to succeed, right in front of you. With hard work and a keen interest in utilizing the fashion industry connections that LIM College provides, your future is bound to be bright.

Last night, my friend Alyssa and I attended the LIM Employer Thank You Reception. We arrived at the LIM College Townhouse and were immediately welcomed. The large room was decorated with flowers and candles. The ambience was incredible!

The purpose of the reception was to thank the loyal and committed industry partners who continually support LIM College and its students. Countless companies continually provide internships and job opportunities. LIM College is essentially a web of connections waiting to be utilized. We mingled and had great conversations with employees from several companies. Both Alyssa and I were so very grateful to have had the opportunity to attend.

In the end, the reception was eye-opening. It allowed me to once again remember that LIM College is a wealth of knowledge, a wealth of resources, and a school where your fashion career begins the first day you step onto the streets of New York City, as long as you are grateful for all that is around you and actively involve yourself in utilizing it.

As you prepare for your future and the possibility of moving to NYC and attending LIM, remember to simply be thankful. When you are thankful, you are aware. You are clearly observing the importance of things around you, and connecting with the fact that they are essential in your life. I can’t wait for you to feel as thankful as I do every day.

I am so very lucky to be living and learning in NYC. But most of all I am lucky to have so much to be thankful for.

Until next week, have a wonderful beginning of March!
