LIM College

Hi everyone! I hope all is well in your world and that you are staying motivated and inspired! I am pleased to inform you that I am not doing too badly myself. I am in the home stretch with only a month or so of school left, and I am in awe that once that time comes I will be declaring that my first year of college is officially complete! Time flies. In the city where everything seems to pass by in “a New York minute” it is easy to think that living and learning here will be a blur. However, I have experienced the opposite. Since moving to NYC and attending LIM College, I have never been more aware of my surroundings. My days are filled with moments of impact, moments that allow me to stop and stare, moments that cause me to be present.

As much as fashion is creative and artistically appealing, this industry is rooted in a foundation of business. As a future fashion industry professional, it is essential and important to possess the ability to observe what is around you and occurring in the world. One must translate that into a perception and understanding that is revealing of society. Understanding people, their feelings and their ever-changing beliefs and values is a key aspect of successful business.  I have learned this since attending LIM College, and have applied it to my life in New York City. As I walk down the streets my mind is racing a mile a minute. I notice styles and trends, but I also notice advertisements, conversations, and new developments.  

So as you prepare to move into the future, hopefully that will include LIM College and New York City. I can tell you that it has been such a special chapter in my life, where I have grown as a person and as a professional poised to live and learn in the fashion industry, and it has only just begun. Remember, living now, with your eyes wide open, will only make your future clearer than ever before.

Stay tuned for my next moment of impact…the LIM College Fashion Show, an annual event that is sure to deliver! Without giving it all away, let me just say that I will be taking a big step into the “future. “
