Fall Fashion Trends (as seen in NYC’s Garment District)

posted by LIM College

Working in the Garment District is so awesome because it gives me the opportunity to spot out all of the latest trends. Every time I walk to the office, or to go get lunch or a coffee it gives me a chance to see what everyone is wearing. The Garment District is filled with fashionable people. So read on to see what I am noticing to be some of the big trends for Fall 2010.

Oxfords: I can’t walk more than a block without seeing someone rocking a cute pair of oxford shoes! I love this trend because oxfords are so versatile; you can wear them to the office or you can wear them out for a night on the town. They come in every color and texture imaginable.  My personal favorites are metallic and suede.  There is no best way to wear this trend because they look so cute with everything!

Anyway, I am noticing that girls in the Garment District love clogs. I have seen traditional wooden ones, as well as updated clogs with studs, chains, and other accents. Personally, I do not get this trend nor do I think I could pull it off with my big clumsy feet. However, if they are paired with the right outfit, they look really fashionable and not at all like you are trying out to play Heidi.

Military-Inspired: The military inspired trend is everywhere right now. From boots to pants to jackets, girls in the Garment District look armed for a fabulous fashion battle. limcollege.edu staff Staff Profiles Desktops & Documents lola.rephann My Documents website BLOGS Hubspot Blogs Admissions images content images military 1What I love about this trend is that you can look great on a dime. All you have to do is go to an Army-Navy store to find really great pieces in that true olive drab color.

I could go on and on about other trends I am seeing, like the 50’s ladylike trend, but there is just not enough space. Of course, what is always trendy is just wearing what you like best!
