Another New York Fashion Week is now in the books and, as usual, LIM College made its presence known in a number of ways.
Approximately 100 of our students volunteered at many Fashion Week shows and presentations, gaining valuable exposure to the behind-the-scenes workings of one of New York City’s most high-profile and economically impactful events.
A talented team of students also produced a special mini-magazine for The Daily Front Row’s Fashion Week issue. It was themed around up-and-comers in the industry and distributed to a broad range of key influencers, including designers, editors, bloggers, and buyers. After all, who better to give Fashion Week attendees a look at the future than a group of young women and men preparing to become the business’s next generation of leaders? Upon completion of their magazine project, the students were offered internships at The Daily Front Row.
Speaking of internships, LIM students will complete internships at approximately 600 fashion and fashion-related companies this academic year alone. Our industry partners appreciate not only the enthusiasm, but also the specialized skills and knowledge these young women and men bring into the workplace.
This month we’ve continued to increase LIM College’s visibility through ads in WWD and The Daily Front Row, as well an ongoing campaign in the New York City transit system. Yet our students and alumni will always be our most effective ambassadors, as they enter, and excel in, fashion and related businesses.
