LIM College Students Abroad: Class field trip to Tuscany

by Alyssa Smethers

One of my favorite things about studying in Rome are the field trips we are able to take for our classes. I am currently taking an international marketing class here at the American University in Rome and for this class we are actually creating a marketing strategy for a vineyard.

We are trying to make a campaign for a particular brand of wine and implement it into the American market. My professor is actually good friends with the owner of the vineyard, so she was able to schedule a little field trip to tour the vineyard in Tuscany.

This was a really fun experience because we were able to get a personalized tour of the vineyard by the owner herself. She showed us her vineyard and where the wine was created. It was really interesting to see how everything was made and the Tuscan views were breathtaking.

After the tour of the vineyard, we were taken to a local restaurant. Here we were able to sample some of the wine from the vineyard.

Coming to Paris I was expecting ham and cheese sandwiches (croque-monsieur) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was also expecting lots and lots of bread.

LIM College Students Abroad: The Mod Art School in Paris

Posted on Jul 23, 2015 11:08:00 AM

by Mikayla Bunker

After being at Mod'Art for almost a week now, honestly, I feel there isn’t that much of a difference between the school here and LIM. The first major difference between the two colleges is the area where they are located. As we all know LIM is located in mid-town Manhattan, right in the middle of it all, whereas Mod'Art is in a less populated area of the city.

This was a busy weekend! Our host school took us on a trip to the Amalfi Coast.

Here we all loaded up on a bus early in the morning and went to our first stop, which was Mt. Vesuvius. Here the bus took us up a winding path so we could hike up to the summit of the volcano.

LIM College Students Abroad: Traveling to San Marino

I was not expecting to find an adventure when traveling from Florence to San Marino, but I certainly got one regardless. The tour group was relatively small and we traveled by van for what felt like hours before we finally made a necessary rest stop. This was a rest stop unlike any other and to this day it is all a blur because it all happened all so quickly.

LIM College Students Abroad: San Marino / Italy's Best Kept Secret

Posted on Jul 15, 2015 2:10:00 PM

by Taylor Lloyd

To say that San Marino is magical would be an understatement, but I don’t believe that there is any better word to describe it because it was like stepping into a time machine with its cobblestone streets, the castle that sat at the top of the hill, and the changing of the guards.

LIM College Students Abroad: ACF Fiorentina vs. Chievo Verona Football Match

I attended my first professional football (aka: soccer) match in Firenze and it was an exhilarating experience to say the least. I walked through the tunnels of the stadium and my eyes were immediately exposed to a sea of purple that filled the stands, along with a lot of smiling and eager faces that anticipated the last game of the season.
