How to Dress Like “Emily in Paris” Without Breaking the Bank.

posted by Angelika Hlinka

If you've watched, Emily in Paris you probably had many thoughts going through your head while watching it over the weekend or if you finished it in one sitting! How did that chocolate croissant taste, will there be a season two, and obviously who will Emily end up with? I have the same questions, but honestly, I loved fashion even more.

From tweed jackets to pattern on pattern and so many accessories, Emily became a style icon with every single episode. When I heard that Emily in Paris was created by Darren Star the mastermind of Sex and the City, I knew the fashion would not disappoint. Once episode one started, I knew these outfits would have a Carrie Bradshaw price tag and I certainly cannot afford it. So, I set out to find the “cheaper alternative” to Emily’s outfits, basically a look for less to help us look like Emily, unfortunately, not in Paris.

Emily’s Checkered Outfit

Emily’s beautiful Veronica Beard checkered blazer is definitely out of my price range so this white and black number from ASOS is a great option. One thing Emily taught us was never to be too shy to show off printed sets. This beret and bag are also great for accessorizing.

Emily’s Tie-Dye OOTD

This outfit was probably the most relatable as well as the most casual we have seen Emily in all seasons. Here Emily is seen with a sporty tie-dye sweatshirt that we all probably wore during the quarantine. However, with this pink coat draped over her she makes it look so chic even with her mismatched earrings.

Emily’s Yellow Silk Dress

This dress reminded me of a lot of the dress Serena van der Woodsmen wore when her mother was marrying Bart Bass. While Emily’s exact skirt and top by Gianni would cost you over $500, I found a similar alternative at a much friendly price just by adding a black belt to a yellow and black satin dress. These heels from Topshop tie in the outfit all together.
