While this week has been busy for me with work, school, my internship, and my own modeling, I thought it would be hard to keep up with and see any shows. But thanks to Twitter, I am more up to date than some of my friends. Seventeen, allure, Nylon, TeenVogue and other magazines have been covering the shows at Bryant Park as always, but this time they're sharing. While at my job this weekend, I watched play-by-plays of alice + olivia, Betsey Johnson, Tracey Reese, and Marc Jacobs to name a few.
The designer's themselves (or an assistant charged with that task) were Tweeting, with TwitPics of backstage footage, runway preparation, hair, make-up, fittings. I felt as if I were there, and as an aspiring student in the field of fashion, it was eye-opening to see what time everybody arrived, how long it took to prepare, and how fast the show was put together and finished.
Throughout the year you can follow designers and magazines through their preparations and daily routines via Twitter.
