Ruffles and sequins and shoulder pads, oh my!
Yes, the dawn of 1980’s fashion is one of the newest trends upon us, but for those opposed to it, there’s no need to pull out your hairspray and teasing brushes just yet. Looking to the Saint Laurent Fall 2017 Ready to Wear and Spring 2017 collections that showcased tulle, rhinestones, and lace, it’s safe to say that 80’s fashion is back with a vengeance!
Lathered in Leather
In my opinion, leather can never go out of style. According to creative director of Saint Laurent, Anthony Vaccarello, leather won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. From puffed sleeves to PVC leather pants, it looks like the more leather, the better.
My favorite segment of the Saint Laurent spectacle was the ever so covetable ruched boots. It didn’t come as a shock because we have already seen these worn by our favorite bad gal RiRi fresh off the runway, there is no question that these boots will be the craze of the season. Paired with either a midi skirt or jeans, these boots ooze effortless cool.
From the streets of Paris to the runway, I stand behind Vaccarello that the 1980’s trends are happening for fall and spring. Whether it’s lace, leather ruffles, or rhinestone covered boots, which trend are you brave enough to try?
