I recently attended a workshop sponsored by LIM College titled Leading and Motivating led by Keir Carroll. In the famous words of Forrest Gump, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get.” I approached the workshop, like most others, with some trepidation and perhaps angst, wondering what was ahead and what I would get out of it. But I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Our facilitator Keir (which rhymes with beer) was a delightful fellow, engaging and funny in a good way. There were twenty or so folks in the room, a good cross section of the College, which gave us a wonderful opportunity to learn from each other and share experiences that will help each and every one of us lead and motivate all those around us in a more positive way. Keir asked us all in the beginning of the workshop what we wanted to learn. My response was “I wanted to learn one new thing that I could use in my role as the Dean.” That was at 9:00 am. By 4:00 pm (with lunch and several breaks in between, thankfully) I came away with much more!
Cheers,
