Here are some ideas of what you can do to make the most of your time off during winter break.
Take a rest!
Resting rejuvenates your body and mind and it will give you a chance to work on other tasks besides graduate school. Of course, taking a break is sometimes easier said than done. You might be working full-time or doing an internship, so it might not be that easy to rest.
However, if you feel that you need time to slow down and focus on other parts of your life, it would probably be beneficial for you to do so.
Revamp your Resume
It’s good to always have an updated resume on hand at all times. You never know when you might need one! Take time during the winter break to look over your resume and add any new info or skills that you have.
Look for internships
It’s so beneficial to complete an internship if you have the time and space on your calendar. You don’t have to spend the entire break looking for internships, just devote a few hours a week to search for internships that fit your career goals and apply to them.
Plan next semester’s schedule
Get a jump start on the next semester and create your schedule for spring or make a game plan before you get too busy. For example, if you find you need more contacts in the fashion industry, seek out talks, speeches or discussions where fashion industry folks will be. Then make a plan to hit as many of those events as you can.
Whatever you choose to do, have a great winter break!
