Having a Social Life

Having a social life can be kind of tricky when you are in college—especially during the senior coop semester. However, it is important for me to take time to see my friends, have a date night with my boyfriend or to just do something that makes me happy.

Planning my week is essential so I know exactly when to work out, when to go out for dinner and when to take the day off to do something really fun with someone. Between my internship responsibilities and the pretty intense amount of homework we have, things can get a bit overwhelming.

My plan usually starts with taking a night off with my boyfriend to do something fun and romantic so we can connect and not be distracted by other things. I also try to take another night for friends, either for a nice dinner or for a happy hour. To me, it’s crucial to talk about all kinds of things and learn from each other, and try to help each other out.

Lastly, I try to exercise alone at least twice a week so I can have that part of the day to myself. Either running, which gives me a lot of time to think, to have ideas and to process what I have been through or by doing Soul Cycle, which is a cardio party in each class. I love to do this because it makes me feel very accomplished afterwards.

College and work are obviously very important, but don't forget, taking time to be social is crucial for everyone to decompress and be on their best game at all times.
